How have you been getting on with this drug? My partner Liz was recommened it instead of Mirtazapine? Hopefully it will cure her restless legs of an evening!

I have been ok with it, makes me tired and forget things all the time, i dont mean general things like everyone does but more forgetting where i am and what i was doing forgetting words etc
When i first started seroquel it made me slurr my words and make me dizzy (still does sometimes now) i loose my balance easily it makes me sleep forever, and when the tablets kick in you know, my legs get heavy and if i dont lie down i get very fidgety and stressed, they take about an hour to kick in now, when i first took them it took 20 mins, so make sure you can get to bed easy! :)

It seems there is a problem between weight gain and seroquel for some – have you experienced this?

Despite being on weight watchers (of which has slowed the weight gain) my partner continues to put on weight feeling more and more agitated about it! There is not much more I can do really other than show support. I have advised her to seek help to combat the weight-gaining effects of the antidepressants.

Zoloft seems to help me. even though it's only anti-depressent. i know what you mean i was then kid and when i got meds for first time i gained 100 lbs in year as kid. i was as big as 360 lbs. i'm 291 lbs now. control what you eat and get excerise. it's hard but can't give in.

I also am on seroquel. I take 800mg at bedtime…at least I am supposed to. I hated the way it made me feel in the morning because I also take 30mg restoril, 10mg lexapro,10mg haldol, 2mg cogentin. But anyway I didn't like the way I felt the next morning so I decided that I would take 400mg at bedtime and again in the morning, I feel alot better physically taking them that way. The only side effects I have from my meds is weight gain and I totally hate that but then my partner will say I would rather have the weight gain than you bouncing off the walls all the time. I guess I could see the point. But just like in the past I know these meds won't last. They work for awhile then bam they don't anymore. I have taken so many different scripts that I could probably open my own psychotic pharmacy. .

I have been on Seroquel for two years, and although it is just one of many I am prescribed, it does seem to be the one that gets the bump more often than the others. I hear that is normal for those types of medications. I have Bipolar and OCD, I suffer with my OCD but the medication stabilizes my Bipolar.
